Homeless people sit on a bench and stare intently at an object, colorful balls are scattered into Lake Balaton from above, departed pets gather on top of the clouds, a man finds his wife’s secret cell phone, a parrot escapes, but learns a very important sentence during its adventures… This book is characterized by an endless wealth of motifs and genres, in which Krisztina Tóth has collected her short stories and other journalistic works written in recent years. What makes the fifty writings outstanding is that the author always goes beyond current events and reaches from a single moment to completeness. Everyday, seemingly trivial dramas turn out to be life-changing events, and life, of course, can delight us with its absurd side at any moment; the only question is whether you feel like crying or laughing. The ars poetica of Hazaviszlek, jó? is brilliantly expressed in one of the pieces, in which an observer from an alien civilization speaks to us. He sees the essence in every tiny detail and blows away the dust of prejudice and ingrained habits from the object he has found, so that we feel that it is only through his eyes that we can truly see ourselves.
