BÁLNADAL

WHALESONG

Whalesong is a collection of poems written by Krisztina Tóth between 2017 and 2020. The three magnificent cycles take the reader from Völgyút through a Journey to China to the scenes of our everyday lives, in Terek. The emergence of the past and people from the past, and the strange workings of memory appear in the poems, sometimes condensed into haikus, sometimes with the solemnity of sonnets, and at other times in freer forms, to ask the most fundamental questions of the present: why, where, what for? Whalesong is perhaps Krisztina Tóth’s most moving volume.
